Excellent composition Palmina. I love the red sunlight on the tree.

As I write Oz will be into the New Year already...how is it so far. :)

Hi Billy Thanks for the comments, this was just after the sun started coming up. The Gum's do look lovely then.

As for the New Year......it's now 5.39 a.m. and it's 31oC so it's BLOODY HOT!!!! The aircon has been going for the last 2 days. It's heading for 40 today again.

But really, I can't complain, we are healthy, happy and have some great friends, that's all you can ask for!

Have a wonderful, safe and happy New Year Billy thanks for the laughs over the last few months!!!

I like the looks of the Gums under just about any circumstances, and this is a wonderful photo, Palmina! But that heat I can do without!

Very best wishes for the New Year--health, happiness, and many wonderful photos!

Thanks Marilyn

I agree, the Gum trees are beautiful in whatever light. Glad you like this shot. Yes it's hot , too hot! Now the North wind is blowing too which makes it even hotter! Roll on Autumn!

Hi Craig Thanks for the comments.

The aircon was on all day again today but for the dogs! We went for a drive down the South Gippy and got some nice cooling winds. Hope you are handling the heat o.k.

Beautiful, Palmina. You captured it perfectly. I find it fascinating to have a visit from you who are half-way across the world! (and I look forward to it)

Technology is an amazing thing isn't it George It is strange that we are all connected so easily.

I love that I found Panoramio. Not only has it ignited my pleasure in photography again and made me look at things differently - "will this make a good shot?" or "that looks like an Elephant eye" etc. but more importantly, it has given me the opportunity to have 'met' some wonderful people who by their unselfish praise and encouragement are building this amateurs confidence in her ability a little more each day. It is a wonderful thing and I am truly thankful for it and thank you George for being one of those people,

I fully agree, Palmina. I'm learning everyday and looking even more closely for possible photo opportunities. I've also discovered HDR...a technique I had never heard of before. (Although, I have sandwiched slides or negatives of the same photo with different exposures, but the results are not the same)

Palmina Moore, on January 4, 2008, said:

George I keep hearing this HDR thing on here. I haven't looked it up on Google yet to find out what everyone is talking about. (You know me, technically challenged) I do know though, that once I can afford it, I am taking the Photo shop course at TAFE. It's great to see the shot's people are constructing with on here using P/S
