Fallen Star

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The majestic old Benedictine Abbey continues to attract my attention so I could not resist taking another shot..A full moon, partially hidden behind some clouds, gave some extra light. A long exposure and manual focus helped to deliver a pleasing result..Despite all the criticism regarding the Pentax K7's low light level performance, I am reasonably happy with the result..Please feel free to add your own opinions! I thank my friend nanoinca for the idea of the title :)

A wonderful image of a great location Jim. There seems to be little in the way of noise given the low light. Next step HDR maybe ?
Another L&F for the collection.
Cheers, Bec

It's been such a pleasure to receive so much positive feedback guys without which there would be little point in Panoramio. With this in the uppermost of my mind, I know how much it matters to receive comments. My intention is to visit all those who took the trouble to review my photos. If I missed you out, don't worry, it's only a matter of time. I humbly apologise for this belated reply

Rikimer~~~Many thanks Willi ;) The old ruin gets a lot of exposure and so it should, it surely is a memorable structure.

I have lived under its shadow for many decades and yet I am still in awe of it's Gothic beauty! I'm most grateful for your appreciation, especially the L+F..

Kind regards sent your way ;)

Always good to be reminded of this famous iconic building Jim. Good to see the star too :) I too should try to get here at night sometime but I rarely get to Whitby nowadays. However I did get there a few weeks ago and managed to snap this dear old friend again. There does not seem many ways that this has not been presented and so my latest offering is nothing special. Unlike yours! BIG like of course. Keep Well.

Cheers, Herb
