Now defunct, per email received 6/3/2012: "It's true, Dudley's Farmhouse Grille is no longer in business, we've
closed it for good. But, we have also just opened Dudley's Bistro in Newtown, located at 4904 Courthouse Street. The new location is a
little smaller on the inside, but the ambiance is FANTASTIC, and the location is central and so close to so much to do. We hated to make
the move, the love and money we put into the old Farmhouse, the friends we made, and the special feel of the old room will all be missed(well we hope the friends will still see us). The new location has so much to offer, level floors, heating and air conditioning that actually work, an exhaust hood that is higher than 6 feet, no more head bumps, and a nice view.
The outdoor patio is fun, and was packed Saturday Night, the inside is getting great reviews. The artwork is amazing(from my house, wife isn't pleased), the new Wine Closet means no more running up and downstairs, and the server station is huge and efficient. The high ceilings, the soft music, candle light and flowers, and linen to boot. This is an experience.
The food is the same great quality, and prepared and presented to perfection. The seafood is fresh and delivered daily, the beef is aged and of the best quality. We will open for lunch this week for another soft opening, and a Grand Opening Weekend is planned soon. The dinner dining experience will begin again on Tuesday Evening. Give us call, book a reservation, and start a new tradition with us.
Thanks, Chef Jim"
Nice Photo, Doug!
Thank you, Rainer!
The building was subsequently occupied for a very short time by an Italian restaurant, but the last time I passed by it was empty again.
