When I was a child in London in the 1970s, I had a bedside light that was a globe of the world. I would look up at it and think about the places and the people on that remote and impossibly mysterious, distant peninsula of Kamchatka.
This is what I would dream it looked like. To me it was the land of fire, snow, gold, silver and green.
I can admire good photos but this moves me in my heart.
