Bundaberg Sugar's Bingera Mill

This sugar mill began operating in 1885, and is now one of the mills crushing sugar cane and producing raw sugar operated by Bundaberg Sugar. Bundaberg Sugar was bought by a Belgian based company, Finasucre s.a. in 2000.

It may be described as a central mill for cane is sent from farms over a wide area of the irrigation districts of the Burnett and Kolan Valleys, mostly by tramway to this mill.

Bundaberg Sugar operates other mills at Innisfail, Mareeba, Babinda and the Millaquin Mill at East Bundaberg. Al together the company crushes around 500,000 tonnes pa and produces 70,000tonnes of sugar. It owns its own refinery in East Bundaberg, and has other activities such as engineering, packaging, beverage production, electricity and molasses production.
