Now here's a side view of a Chickadee (and on my hand this time:)

Hi Esseil and thank you too! I was also surprised at how strong those little fellows are (even though when I was younger we had a number of budgies as pets). I think it's the shock of a wild bird landing on one's hand that makes one more aware of it's presence and strength.
:) Aw thank you Mene! :)
I'm happy you enjoyed seeing my little friend Eme! :D
Jacques they are a naturally friendly bird but it wasn't until this winter that I had one land on me. I've noticed in past years how close they have come to landing on us so this year thought I'd put seed in my hand. It takes about 20 minutes and some whistling to grab their attention and then they start moving to the nearby trees. They are also naturally curious and eventually they landed on my hand. I have also discovered that the colder the temperature the greater number of birds will arrive and they are ravenous then. Thank you for the *star. :)
Welcome to Saskatchewan, Canada, Zé from Portugal (and I'm happy you enjoyed seeing my little friend . :)
