It looks as though these creatures are in need of some TLC! You have a superb gallery, especially your wildlife shots which must have taken a great deal of patience to capture as well as demonstrating an enviable standard of technical expertise. Sorry, can't help with you Moth identitification quest - you'll have to join the Facebook Moth Lovers Network! John.

I'm not sure I deserve such high praise. Most of my wildlife shots were taken when I spotted some interesting wildlife accidentally, although of course I've been to places like Skomer Island on purpose hoping to photo birds.
Some of the insect shots were taken in my garden which required some patience but more importantly I had to shut out of my mind what the neighbours thought of me.
As for technical expertise I'm afraid it's all down to the camera. Wildlife shots require use of zoom usually, you might need a steasdy grip as you take the focus and exposure centering on the subject. Also most of my shots are taken on th eAutomatic setting. Recently having had this camera for about 4 years I decided to read the manual (this was partly inspired by my jealousy of a certain photographer who's nearly had more new digital cameras than I've had hot dinners(!), I thought I'd try to really utilise my present camera to the full before buying a new one to compete with my consumerist friend!). I've tried latley to get more depth of field by using Aperture priority with debateable success.
