Eighteen, A magical age. You only turn 18 once and one deserves a celebration. Your cake is a celebration all by itself. Wonderful deed you have done for a close friend.

Thank you Steve Yes , she loved the color and design...HAHA yes it was pretty much eaten, however I did get to bring several slices home with me:)) This young lady is quite a special young woman....thanks for your visit and the like award...hope you are well and having a good weekend, we are having heavy rain and pretty severe thunderstorms...

my best to you ~~Sarah~~ X

OH Hey Steve passing by the PC and thought to check things here, the threat of severe weather now passed for today (we hope) the weather at the moment is just fine, sunny and beautiful, unlike earlier when it was quite scary and severe... and thanks Steve, we had no damage, but stayed away from PC until it all passed. The only thing damaged was one of my grandaughter's little heart was broken, as today was her first softball game,(she's 9) she was all rearing to go, dressed in her uniform and ready! going to play second base, but all little league games had to be cancelled. needless to say, an upset little "second baseman" :)) but another day is coming.:))

Greetings to you Steve, ~~Sarah~~x

Hi dear Steve, yes the game will be played later this week, in the meantime, her sister has begun her tennis matches...wheewww! how will I keep up? oh and after I wrote the above note that the bad weather had subsided, later that night, more thunderstorms with blew all under our carport, we picked up pieces of hail all around outside the kitchen door as the wind blew the hail right under the carport, some striking the new car...but not large enough, luckily, to damage to my new set of wheels:) crazy weather, but now all improved, beautiful days!

best of wishes to you ~~Sarah~~

This Hello is for the best baker in the world, really Sarah you're an artist doing cakes I always say that but is the truth. like. Love from Maite

Sarah O on March 29, 2012

Hello Mirenterese, Ah you are so kind, thank you so much for your sweet comment my friend, Iam not sure about the "artist" thing, but have so much enjoyed these years of doing so many cakes. It is a joy, has been a joy, but I don't do as many now, Ive decided I'd rather be doing other things, like time with g/children, and other enjoyable things. But have no stopped, just slowed down a bit. Iam so happy to see you, you are such a pleasure to have come by and visit.

Love to you as well Maite, hugs too ~~Sarah~~

What a creation! Although you can't see the dancers quite so well this shot gives a great perspective on the whole cake with bright cheerful colors all tied up like a the ribbon:) Did you do the apple decoration as well? Like!

Sarah O on April 4, 2012

Thank so much! just responded in detail on the other shot of this cake...Yes, this angle just showed the cake in a nice light in the kitchen. The cake was transported to a special room at her favorite restaurant. This was while it was still on my kitchen counter.:) I popped the ribbon on after all finished, I liked how it made the whole top tier more special and the colors are some of my favorites together. It was sheer coincidence that it matched the apples I have in the kitchen:) And, yep, I did that container of apples also:) I love to do all that! It was already on the counter for a few weeks. the fact they it matched the cake was a surprise actually! hadn't planned that AT ALL. Her invitations were blue and green:) Thanks so much for the like award, but mostly that you came for a nice long visit to my gallery. I appreciate that so much.

AH Nick what kind words about this special cake for a special young lady. Yes, they rocked, indeed! they had a dance with a DJ providing the music, great fun and wonderful food as well, and of course, this special cake I prepared and presented to her as a gift. I think she was surprised and was very grateful for the effort! that's always nice to know. Hugs back to you dear Nick all the way over the pond.

Happy Easter!! Sarah

Thank you Jean, this young lady has become like a "g/daughter" to us...she has been living with our oldest son and his family for a couple of years, but will be off to college this fall. A Senior this year, (the senior Prom is this weekend)...she is quite special to all of us. And she sooo loved this cake. glad you took a look Jean.

You such amazing things with cake batter and cake icing. Wow.

Sarah O on April 10, 2012

Jean, thank you! I have been doing this for some time now, so I guess it has come with lots of practice:)) I don't do as much as I once did, I think I might be ready to stop altogether, well, except the g/girls' cakes. I still enjoy doing wedding cakes however, they are a challenge and rewarding to do, pleasing a bride, with her special cake, is a good feeling:)
