Žilina, Mariánske námestie (a sunny spring day in Marias´square in my town)

Marias´ Square is typical of their houses, which are extended to the floor beneath arcades and arcade spaces created, popularly called "Laube" [1]. They have shops and craftsmen worked there. During the summer the whole square is lined with terraces. / Mariánske námestie je typické svojimi domami, ktoré majú poschodie vysunuté na arkádach a pod nimi vznikli priestory podlubia, ľudovo nazývané „laubne“[1]. V nich boli obchody a pracovali tam remeselníci. Domy majú dodnes zachované pôvodné, gotické pivnice. Vznik námestia sa datuje pred rok 1300. Všetky domy mali do požiaru v roku 1886 štítové strechy. Tieto sa dnes za pomoci Mesta Žilina obnovujú. V súčasnosti je námestie súčasťou pešej zóny v meste a konajú sa tu rozličné podujatia. Cez leto je celé námestie lemované terasami.
