you don't see many of these any more, good example!

In the olden days they painted the advert directly on to the walls. Later they came up with the idea of bill boards (probably so they could bill regularly). You can see where the bill board has actually protected the painted advert from the elements. Thanks marra.

Have I seen this parade of shops (what a nice collective noun) before Keith? Did they have the bars up last time?

This is much nicer with the glass showing.

I also have a fancy for these old painted adverts. I know where there are a few - I must take me camera next time.

Nice one - Jethro

Well remembered sir. The last one was taken on a sunday. This one last monday to finish off the roll before taking it into the lab (just to the left, off-shot). Looking forward to seeing your signs. Cheers.

I was trying to remember what the Puck match box was like Keith, and had to look it up! We always had Scottish Bluebell match boxes when I was a wee one.

I too like the old painted signs on the walls - I hope someone takes care of this one!

Cheers, Amelia

Thanks Amelia. The link didn't work, but I remember the label with Puck carrying a box on his back. I also remember Scottish Bluebell and Three Torches matches ('cos I'm old!).
