"Mount Rose Summit" is the pass for Nevada Route 431 between Incline Village at Lake Tahoe, and south Reno at US Highway 395. The pass crests between Tamarack Peak and Slide Mountain, near Mount Rose at an elevation of 8,911 feet (2,716 m). It is the highest Sierra Nevada Mountain pass normally kept open through winter.
