Bucksport, Maine, founded in 1764, is a progressive coastal town at the end of Penobscot Bay. Its residents are extremely proud of their heritage of hard work and community caring. Across the bay is Fort Knox, Maine’s most visited historic site. Buckport's commercial district contains a mix of vibrant businesses: A niche-market software designer. A historic film archive. Shops. Eateries. And our flagship industrial complex, Verso Paper Corp. Sail down the bay and meet a faithful group of "Pen Bay Seals" who like to rove in the waters, or watch a bald eagle glide over the horizon. Established in 1930, Bucksport produces light weight coated groundwood papers for offset and rotogravure printing as well as specialty products. The products of the Bucksport Mill offer a versatile selection of paper grades for diverse end-uses.
