by tales legend, this hills, known with name "Kangari mountains", and with highest point only 68m above sea level, are once created by devil!

Devil comes trough this area on him back way from Riga, where him once was bought few sacks with salt. Devil then can't pass over this area, because of marshland all around of there!

Nick has sift one part of salt on this fields and created uneven hills. Now, over this hills are built country road and we all can pass over marshland in safe. :)

Thanks for visit! :) We all understand than uneven landscapes with only 60m are not worthwhile to be named as mountains, but this names are given by legends. :) This thema are already discussed in Rushless forum and I know from there, than in Baltics countries are not worthwhile to speak about mountains, if our highest mountains are only about 300m. But from other hand - if our landscapes are so flat, every hill looks for us like mountain! :D In fact, we count there hundreds of castle mounds.

Ciao, Ainars.
