Thank you, Andrea very much. Little people know about the tragic way of Ariadna, of the tragic way of the whole family of Marina Tsvetaeva. Here the cemetery is so well done, and the place is so nice, that she and her friend Ada have obtained a quite. Olga

Dear Olga, I LOVE Marina Tsvetaieva and now I am reading the memoirs of her daughter, Ariadna Efron, translated from the Russian by Diane Nemec Ignashev. I am so happy to be able to see the tomb of Ariadna and her friend... Who takes care of the grave? Is Marina buried near them?
Do cvidania! Diana Decker (from Uruguay)

Dear Diana! I can't answer to you who takes care about the tomb, but I think this is very closely related to the Tsvetaevs' museum in Tarusa. The grave of Ariadna and Ada Federolf is in good state. The place is very calm and nice. Marina is buried in Elabuga (Tatarstan, Russia), where she suisided at Petropavlovsky cimetery, but the exact place of the tomb isn't known. Her sister Anastasia erected a cross in the part of the cimetery where Marina was buried. Tragic is our history.

In Tarusa, there is a big rock at the place where Marina would like to be buried and a monument to her, erected after my visit there, and which you may see at the photo by Tatiana Bakova Monument to Marina Tsvetaeva at Tarusa.

I had a very interesting "meeting" in Leiden in the Netherlands: near the central cathedral on the wall of one of houses I have suddenly seen a verse by Tsvetaeva in Russian. Look the first page of comments where I give the translation. Olga

I have just started reading the book by Ada. Our ancestorial last name is Federolf, from Wachbach Gemany. I found theis book on line looking for names of our ancesters. I do not speak or write Russian and I.m gald this book was translated into English. In the U.S of A, I had never heard of either Ada or Alya, or any of the other people in thsi book. We had heard about the Gulags but did not know the complete stories of them. This is a great book and I am passing it around for others to read. Thanks Eric M Fetterolf

Eric, I tried to send you a message from your page, but it didn't go. So, I repeat:

Eric, It was a surprise to read your message, and I was really gald to receive it. We have bought the book by Ada Fererolf "Aside Alia" (Ariadna Efron) and have read it in one day. She was a great woman, great friend and great person. Our terrible history has broken their lives and broke many many others, but their dignity and culture, their friendship were surprising. We have also read the book by Ariadna Efron - her Memoires.I am happy that somebody from Ada's family remembers her. Mother of Ariadna, our famous poetess, Marina Tsevtaeva, hang herself in Elabuga. Brother of Ariadna was killed in 1944 at the front. And these two women arrived to survive all the distress of their life!

The Tsvetaevs had a house in Tarusa. Now there is located their family museum. Marina liked tis place and told once, that she wanted to be buried on the Oka side. Now their is placed a symbolic stone with these her words. Ariadna and Ada decided to live there and died there. Ada and Ariadna's friends made a superb stone on the grave of Ariadna, who left tis world the first; you see it at my picture. The grave of Ada is much modest - a small plate in the background.

After having read all this, we went with my husband to Tarusa, and specially for visiting their graves. I have few pictures of them. The cimetery is very quiet, very green, birds sing. A place for rest after a very difficult life.

My direct e-mail is: yakovenko.o@gmail.com. If I may help you in anything, you are welcome.

Sincerely, Olga Yakovenko

A kiss on the forehead erases misery... and memory 1917 Marina Tsvetaeva, translated by her daughter Ariadna Efron. To visualize our history helps to strengthen our human cultural chances. PANORAMIO could be the forum to visualize our human understanding. My best regards and wishes for peace, Hans
