Paraglider launch point overlooking Rossbehy
No it's a free flight - just climb to the top and run off the edge :)
When you want to land that beach below is the landing area
You get very serious height from here if you want to. From this point you can easily get to over 5000 feet
Must be a unique experience flying in this place!
Over 5000 feet with this landscape, I never landing...
Good place! Great shot! L+F. Gerhard
Thank you Gerhard :) You have been very kind and supportive to a beginner - thanks
Very best wishes
Hey Dean, nice place, I also like climbing, hiking, I didn't do paragliding until now, but I hope to do it in the future:) LIKE. Best wishes.
This is a really special paragliding launch site - you can get seriously high from here due to those mountains over the other side of the water. From up here that sand bank looks flat but the dunes are up to 30 meters high so it's not as flat as it looks ;)
Very best wishes and many thanks for looking at the older pics
Really appreciate that :)
I see what you mean about launch sites Dean it must be nerve wracking for the inexperienced. I think if I ever did it I'd prefer something a little less daunting.
This is a great spot for flying - you can get as high as you want and stay in the air all day.
You are spot on about the launch though - definitely a nervy one :) :) feels like you are leaning directly back over the 800 ft drop to get the glider flying :)
Very interesting Dean whats the longest you have been airborne for, and how do you know what height you are, it's a fantastic view Like Regards Richard
From here you can just stay up in the air all day if you want
Regarding height - I have a gos tracker on the iPhone that plots route, speed altitude etc - it's not 100% accurate but it's near enough
When in the air we have a machine that beeps with altitude climb and squawks with drop - you can't trust your senses at all :)
It's a fantastic form of flying it really is :)
