Library in Houma 2003 and still looks new!

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Main library in Houma opened in 2003 and features a drive thru book return lane! Very fine library for the parish of Terrebonne. Two story building the top floor houses the Genealogy Services for the parish. Super friendly staff and the best computer section I have seen in a library! Also unique children section! I was impressed.

The town of Houma came into existence, bearing the name of the Indian tribe, that lived and loved and worshipped among its groves, the ancient Houmas, which means the sun!!! Where was the "houma" during my stay there?? Just a constant drizzle!!
