the upper area of the Jennings randolph lake

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

On Sunday March 18th, 2012 I went exploring the upper parts of the Potomac, where i plan to go paddle this spring, Summer, and Fall. I was looking for river put ins and take outs, and to characterize the river where ever I might have a chance. The day was unfortunately rainy for the most part leading to some less than ideal lighting conditions for pictures.

The day did however turn rather fruitful as I managed to not only hit all my targets, but found a few more unexpected river put ins, which i assure you i documented thoroughly. Stay tunned to the midatlanticriverrat channel :)

One thing that was impressed on me is that with all the multi stream paddle that i do, i must keep doing a good job of cleaning my kayak and letting it dry thoroughly to keep invasive species from hitching a ride with me. If you are a paddler and plan on doing this, you must too. We all protect our common natural heritage.
