Zgrada je vrlo uočljiva točka u obrisu grada gledanoga s mora, i s gradske šetnice uz more. Kulturno je dobro Republike Hrvatske.

View of the west facade of the headquarters building of Harbourmaster's Office and Plovput Ltd. It has always been known as Lučka kapetanija. Originally it was a two-storey corner building with mansard roof. Project by the chief land surveyor Rupcic was achieved in 1892 as neoclassical architecture with neo-Renaissance decorations. The final third floor was added in 1926. At the corner of the roof remained preserved original octagonal dome crowned with a cupola.

The building is very noticeable point in the outline of the city seen from the sea and the promenade along the sea. It is the cultural property of the Republic of Croatia.
