We've been there in 2003 Ian, but I can't remember much of it. Greetings Berend

Miles and miles of gentle clean sandy beaches, Berend is the attraction. Hervey Bay beaches are sheltered by Fraser Island so it is usually a low energy coast, with wide sand flats at low tide. But when storm waves are driven into the bay from tropical cyclones to the north, it can be rough.

Many retirees from southern Australia have found their way here to retire in the warm equitable climate.

Tourists come to watch the whales in the bay, in season, or to visit Fraser Island - one of the natural wonders of the world.

Apart from the outsiders, the beaches, waterways and bay are popular with the locals from the region who visit regularly, especially for annual holidays. Easter is a perfect time to go to Hervey Bay, but winter and summer are both wonderful too.

We only stayed one day at Fraser island Ian, but we loved it. If we ever come back to Oz, we will visit Fraser for a few days. Greetings Berend
