Hello again, Paula - this little marmot was on the canyon side of the fence that kept people from the edge, but very calm and unperturbed. I suppose the fact that we were feeding him leafy branches from nearby had something to do with it ;). This was an older camera and I did zoom in a litte, but he was only about 6 feet from me. I don't know why his eye is red - if it's a trick of light or if they truly are red...?
