spence-ation many thanks for stopping by and commenting! I studied architecture but ended up majoring in art. You're in an exciting field! Where do you work? Isn't this a fine example of rural architecture ;-)?
I loved architecture school, though it was pretty demanding. I don't like the profession nearly as much. I work at ajc architects. It's a pretty cool firm. We do National Parks projects, which I like a lot.
I was the opposite of you I guess. I was thinking about being an artist, but my dad really discouraged me from it, saying that's "a good hobby". My real dream is to be a pilot, and I hope to start getting licensed in a couple of years.
I love seeing ruins. And I really wonder what the structure looks like inside your subject. The exterior "skin" looks crushed.
Hi spence-ation - I had forgotten that you said you live in Utah. That alone is exciting - I LOVE Utah! And I LOVE visiting our National Parks - in fact my honeymoon was a road trip of our National Parks. You must be enjoying your work.
Both of my parents were architects, which is why I almost majored in it I suppose. They were quite pragmatic about life, and also very supportive about whatever 'us kids' wanted to do. I never really looked at school for anything more than the education and experience - a 'tool' to keep in my pocket so to speak. I knew most people made career changes in life, so with that I guess I just followed my interests.
And soon you will have another 'tool' - your pilot's license! You will always have your architecture and art as well - that is wonderful.
I did not have the nerve to go in this little structure - it really did look like it was folding up ;).
