It looks so inviting to walk, cycle or jog. Well captured Palmina.

Lovely forest Palmina. The trees look distinctly different than anything I have seen in the States. The road looks like a great place to explore too! Bruce

Bruce, the Mt Baw Baw Road is a wonderful road to explore and for those who drive it they become "honorary Australians" if they call somewhere else home, but for Palmina (an emigre from the other side of the world) this is a statement that she IS an Australian. Your home and your heart are among the gum trees when you are posting pictures like these. And the Centre beckons.

I can only add to what Ian has said Bruce re the Mt. Baw Baw Road. It is a lovely drive. The Black Spur drive is more spectacular I think but it's difficult to get a shot as you'd have to stop on the road to get the best vantage through the trees and it's chaos during the weekend. When the kids get back to school and Kevin can get a week day off, we'll go up and see what we can do. I'm sure my shot's wouldn't even begin to do it justice. You have to hear the sounds of the Whip Birds, Bell Birds and the Parrots and smell the decay of the tree ferns and leaves. (Maybe I am a closet Aussie!!! Ian)

Ian I do love the Gums and the bush but I'm still a Geordie at heart. River Tyne flowing through my veins. But having said that, I do get an overwhelming sense of pride, peace and serenity when we drive up through the hills though. It is a truly magical Country

Oh Palmina, you are! When you can add the sounds of the birdlife and the odurs of the bush in words to a beautiful image you are the "true blue". And it is a magical country!! But isn't it wonderful that each of the others in the network is introducing us to special landscapes and places. Ian

Yes it is great seeing all the different areas on Panoramio. I especially like Bruce's shot's of Virginia and and Hank's shot's of New York. Because they live there (Hank has since moved to New Jersey) you get a different side of the place not just the tourist bits that you see on T.V. It all whets my appetite for travel.

What a beautiful forest, Palmina! It looks so different from the ones I'm used to. I've never seen trees like this before. They are really impressing and I'd love to go for a walk there! Greetings, Anne

Yes Anne the Gum trees are lovely. They all fight for the sun and grow straight up. I will try to get a few shot's of "The Black Spur" over the next few weeks as that is gorgeous!
