Is this area usually snow-free this early in the year? We have had way less snow than normal this year and it's more like early June than early April. I sure hope we're not 20 degrees warmer than normal come August.

AustinMN, This area has fairly light snow most years (rain shadow). It is not unusual to see all of it gone by early April. The winter in southern Idaho was a bit mild, but not exceptionally so. Springtime has been about average. I took this photo on April 2, one of the first "warm" days. It was a bit over 60 degrees F. We didn't get the amazing "Summer in March." In fact, we had a storm instead. I understand the storm in the West and the "summer" in the midWest and East were in fact causally related.
