This is an Old World monkey endemic to the wetlands of central Africa. Locally known as swamp monkeys they owe their name to the Italian-French explorer Pierre De Brazza. The monkey ranges across the swamps, bamboo and dry mountain forests of Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Equitorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Sudan, Uganda and Kenya.
