Hi Andy, I love lavender. Last year I visited Norfolk and saw their lovely fields full of it and didn't realize we had some much closer to home in Faulkland That's a spindly little wild tulip. I don't think I have ever see a wild one before! Like.
Thank you Rosa. I have a better shot of wild tulips on this same page (I don't know how to put a link in a post, sorry!). They are small, yes 2-3 inches high tops.. and all this vibrant yellow/orange/red. I like them a lot!
Look at Faintlightofdawn's award winning Lavender field at Woodmansterne, near Banstead (in Surrey but near the London border). I used to live about one mile away and it wasn't a lavender field in the 1970s!
Best wishes, Andy
Ah yes, I have seen the one by Faintlightofdawn. Very worthy winner...I can't compete with that! My double tulips will flower soon, I will try and get a good pic of them ;~D
Please do! I shall look forward to seeing them.
I tried so hard with tulips and managed quite well but Pinner is London Clay in the main and it's not tulips' favourite soil. I did get one year out of a bulb but never two or more. (and yes I did protect them from squirrels etc!).
Kind regards, Andy
Lovely picture, Andy! The colours are very beautiful and I can almost smell the scent of the Spanish lavender!:) LIKE! Best wishes for a Happy Easter, Anne
