Hi Erik, don't you think that Trier is a great living time machine? We only stayed for a week there in Summer. But we loved it so much that we returned for aditional days shaort after our return. We are planning to return. I have so many things in mind to shot that I would have to be prepaired. Have you been to Igel as well ?. There is the world famous advertising/gravestone column from a roman clothier. Very close to Luxembourg. But is cool to see that we both took the same point of taking a photo. Like this one or the crane at the river. It is remarkeble how many old buildings are still to be seen around the market. And new ones are very modest in their appearence. I think, this just my opinion, the whole appearenmce is well preserved. Not too many advertising signs, etc. I think you even take pictures at the same point in Wuppertal as I did.

Greetings,

Carsten

Hi Carsten, I bet it is. Trier is a rather remarkable city with buildings from all style periods, mixed together, but forming a whole. Indeed you're right that we dont' find the more ugly 'signs of the times' here, although I think they try to preserve the characteristics also for touristical reasons. I haven't been to Igel, so I cant tell. We were in Luxembourg on our way back home. Also a very nice and relaxed city, but not for the ones who a searching for drugs, sex and excitement. Those people better go to Amsterdam...

Greetings, Erik
