Millstones at Stanage Edge, Peak District
I wouldn't like to be lifting any of these Stuart!
Lovely graphical shot, showing the bleakness of the Peak District. There seems to be a sense of lost dreams here, with the millstones gathering lichen; and yet the land is still farmed to sheep, the dry stone walls look in good condition, and I like the scarp and dip slopes of the rolling landscape.
Hello Stuart, excellent and stunning shot, so much millstones! This is beautiful with them in foreground, and the view on the countryside! Fascinating place and you done a superb work with the tones, magical ambiance, big like 1 ♥. Best regards from France, Geneviève
Thanks Ameila, the peak district is a fantastic location for these rugged and sometimes bleak landscape shots. Glad you liked it.
I tried this one in mono for a change, and think the tones suited the light on the day. Thanks for your kind comments
A beautiful scene! I can't imagine such a scene where I live, old millstones just lying around in a pile. ;D L!
