Don:
I thank you very kindly for your comment! I'm new here, but I'm having fun already.
Your photos are all spectacular.
Thank you again for your praise.
Most sincerely,
MaryAlice
Indeed, Russian Rachel, it is from an REM song! The band is from right here in Georgia where I live! :) The photo just reminded me of the song. It is a streetlight hanging above a very full lake in the late night hours. ( the streetlight is actually way up on a dock, and this is the dock post you see in the photo.)
Of course, i thought it was REM. They were my favourite band when I was growing up and I went to see them in Huddersfield in 1995! I'm still trying to picture this lake/dock! Interesting photo anyway.

Couldn't resist turning the 100 views on this one Mary Alice: stunning shot. I tried to figure it out but needed the text to solve the mystery :~) Cool...
My dear friend, I have missed you! :) It's so wonderful to see you here by this streetlight.
I'm so happy to have amused you with my accidental creativity. I had no idea that the shot would turn out like this, but in the end I was pleased and surprised! :)
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope this evening finds you well.
Mary Alice, I spent a lot of time under streetlights in my youth, but thats quite a different story!! :~)
I don't imagine anything creative ever 'accidentally' came out of your camera: this is a super shot.
I have not been posting anything as my own PC 'died' last week and I haven't got it sorted yet: I'm not sure if my recent photos have survived. We'll see anon.
As it is, it's great to hear from you too :-) I hope you are having a great week and a better weekend.
I am so sorry to hear that you are having computer concerns. Will you have to buy an entire new system or can yours be repaired somehow? That is very bad news either way, and I hope that you will be back up and running soon.
From who's PC are you writing? Perhaps you should get a MAC? :) Mac's rule!
Thank you again for your kind words concerning this shot! I am very honored that you like it so much. :)
I'm heading to Florida on Sunday, so if I don't talk to you before then, please know that I will return in about a week, and that I'm not just being quiet over here! The beach is calling my name rather loudly, so I must go! :)
Best of luck to you with your computer, and thank you again for stopping by! It is always so wonderful hearing from you.
Great to hear you are getting away for a break Mary Alice: Florida sounds just the medicine :-)
I am currently using my youngest son's PC and the sooner he gets mine repaired, the sooner he gets his back!! He has no excuses, he is a computer engineer/systems analyst :~)
I look forward to seeing your posts when you get back,
Indeed, Sean, I can't wait! :) Thank you so much for your send off and Merry wishes! I hope to have some pretty beach scenes to show you when I return! :)
Good luck to you with your computer repairs. Maybe your son will have you all up and running again before I get back! That's awesome to have a son in that line of work!
Thank you again for joining in my excitement! :)
I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July holiday, and I will talk to you again very soon!
This is beautiful, Mary Alice, and I don't think I've ever looked at it. Excellent work!
I'm just dropping by to wish you a Merry Christmas. We've been back less than a week from our trip to the Middle East, and we're in the midst of major bathroom renovations, so I'm nowhere near ready for Christmas. But Wednesday we'll head off to spend the holiday with our sons, daughters-in-law, and two-months-old grandson, and somehow Christmas will happen, whether or not I think I'm ready!
Mary Alice, I think you'd enjoy seeing the nostalgic photo that one of our sons took of our grandson (his nephew). (I may have mentioned it on another photo of yours but I don't know which.) I'm going to delete it tonight, so come on over if you're checking Panoramio before that.

Greetings, Marilyn, and thank you so much for your kind words on this shot. I'm really pleased that you like it.
I hope that, despite your bathroom renovations, you still managed to have a beautiful and joyous Christmas.
Thank you so much for stopping over to see me, and I wish you a beautiful 2009!
It is such a pleasure knowing you.
