Great photo! I am a River Hydraulics scientist in New Zealand. I am giving a talk on flood harvesting, the week after next, at a hydrological conference in New Zealand. Any chance I can use this photo in my presentation, with due acknowledgement to you, of course?

Dear Jeremy,

Thank you for your personal and academic courtesy. You certainly have permission to use this image in your presentation to the conference. This aerial was taken 28 Dec 2007. I presume you have already seen the other images in this gallery under the 'flood harvesting' tag. To access this image click on the displayed image and the uploaded file can then be downloaded - it will be about 1Mb and therefore of suitable qaulity for printing, if that is your need in order to print publish your paper.

As I have been a teacher and author of geomorphology, I would be interested to read your paper if that were possible. My email address could be provided for further correspondence.

Dear Ian,

Thank you for your permission to use this image in my presentation and for your interest. There is no paper as such, but I would be more than happy be email you an abstract of my talk and a copy of my presentation (Powerpoint file) when this is finalised.

You can contact me directly at

Thanks again.
