What exactly you want to know. Traveling into Jordan is not difficult.
When you drive the King David road you need a good car, because there is a 'wadi' which is going very deep and than you have to drive long time upwards. So drive than in the first gear.
When you want to hear more, send me an e-mail address.
Bye bye Jikkemien
You've to think about several things: When you leave Syria, you need a stamp from the police, otherwise you can't go back anymore. In Jordan we payed about 70 Jordan Dinars for insurance, visa and the declaration of the car. That you have to pay when you drive diesel, as far as I remember. Also you must buy Jordan money. How much I don't know anymore. Be careful: think about tricks when you change money.
When you drive overland to the Middle East you pass Serbia. At the border there they ask extra money for high vehicles. At the Syrian border you have to pay visa, an insurance, triptych and all the stamps you need. Also the 'guide', who's helping you with all the official papers. Unfortunately we can't reed them. Control all dates when you go in and out of Syria. Visa and date has to be the same. When you have all the papers (can take more than 4 hours) they allowed you to drive to the final control. There you have to pay that man a little tip and you can go!
We payed about 250 Euro, 5 years ago. (dieseltax included) When you will go there?
It can be very hot an very windy during the summer. We 've been twice into Syria and once to Jordan. We were near the Iroquoian border, a town named Deir a zoer. Interesting market they have and so is the France bridge. Do you know you can spend the night under it, but don't do that the night following on Friday, to noisy. At the Assad lake is also a nice possibility for camping. Those place are for free. When you are interested, I know also nice places in Jordan.
Your website is nice with many nice pictures. We have also been in Morocco, in 2001 springtime.
