Hello Els :-) I have discovered that there are very many ruined Churches in the UK... This one was abandoned in the 1960's but others fell into disuse many, many years ago.

There are quite a few such ruins within 100kM of where I live so I hope to visit them in the next few months...

Glad you liked this....

Hiya Karin :-) I think I have found another mission! It seems there are very many ruined Churches in the UK.. Some are in a very bad state but most are are seriously interesting places to visit..

This, I hope, was in the first of many such places.

It certainly looks beautiful in thr Spring sunshine. The light through the windows cast lovely shadows in the grass...

Thanks fir the BIG like :-)

Great composition Steve, shadow looks great, LIKE, Cheers, LOZ

Steven Stoddart on April 28, 2012

Hiya Loz - I can't tell ou how weird it was to step into the Church and see no roof and very lush grass inside... The maintenance of Churches today is a thorny problem and for this one, it was serious enough to abandon the Church as a place of worship and remove the roof. The tower, however, is in fine fettle..

Thanks for the appreciation.. and like ;-)

Hi there Marion :-) As you can see, I am catching up!! Almost every village in the UK has a church... sometimes more than one so I guess it is inevitable some with fall into ruin...

This one, however, may be a ruin but is a delightful spot regardless..

Thanks everso for stopping by and for your appreciation :-)
