In ancient time a fire had been continuously flaming inside Sarmasjed Temple of Masjed-Soleyman. That is why it became possible to find oil and gas in the Middle East by an Englishman, William Knox D'Arcy, a hundred year ago and paved the road towards today's conflictions in the region.

French archaeology expedition under the supervision of Professor Roman Ghirshman made some important discoveries in Masjed-Soleyman. Ghirshman believes the present site of Masjed Soleyman (Parsomash) was the oldest capital of the Achaemenian Kingdom.
