Great Blue Heron lunching

Not selected for Google Earth or Google Maps [?]

I watched as two herons took out 8 fish. I shot 153 frames of the fish being caught, skewered, flipped, positioned and finally digested.

This was by far the best of them. The fish (if you ZOOM -use the link to learn how in the new format - has its mouth wide open - I am sure it was screaming in terror.

I think it's singing that great Tom Jones classic... Please release me.

Nice one, even if 152 weren't as good, I've filled a 4GB card and had nowt to show anyone before !

Thank you very much Sam

This shot still delights me to look at! This sums up why we do photography - for ourselves and our own delight in what we take.

On the Tom Jones from how about.......

Your love keep lifting me higher (out the water)?

(It Looks Like) I'll Never Fall in Love Again

(Won't You Give Him) One More Chance?

All mine?

Do what you gotta do?

I Can Turn You Loose?

.....and so on and so on.

Could be the same heron NICK but I guarantee its not the same fish!

They say they are two different species of heron.... they look the same to me.

Many thanks - Jethro

Best wishes, Brian.

Thank you Brian - this heron is a vegetarian so I had to bribe the heron and a very suspicious fish to pose for me!

:o)

Have a great weekend - Jethro
