Even it is written "near Mardah (West Bank)", this image shows a part of the Ariel's College campus - these many-coloured caravans are student hostels. Mardah is an Arabic village located between a 'base' of the Ariel hill and road #505 (so-called, Trans-Samarian road that goes to the Jordan Valley).

This is an illegal Israeli settlement sitting on stoling Palestinian land. Under international law, it is illegal for an occupying power to transfer its own population into the territory being occupied.
Dan Grosu, on April 22, 2007, said:
The legal status of the land on which the town of Ariel is built, under international law, is "disputed territory", not occupied territory. The land was never owned by an Arab private person. Since the Arab state that might have owned this land according to the 1947 UN partition agreement was never declared by the Arabs, this land will be subject to further negotiations between Israel and Arabs. Since Ariel is a 30000 people vibrant community, with a top level university and industrial park, Israel will never give it up, in no negotiation what so ever.

??!! "these many-coloured caravans are student hostels" is it a joke?, I think it is cancer in the Palestinian land. This is an illegal Israeli settlement sitting on stoling Palestinian land. "Palestinian" land!??? And what would that be? What is that a "Palestinian"? Is it an Egyptian or a Syrian?
MRR, on June 8, 2007, said:
the second biggest settlement in west bank (after Maale Adumim), ariel is to be dismanteled or transfered to palestinians after the establishement of the State of Palestine, soon or late... illegal, and ugly !
