The sky at the opposite horizon to the setting sun was the most colourful. A fine clear day today but a weather system over the UK was close enough to cast a layer of high cloud over the Irish sea. I guess that the Earth's shadow is visible on the cloud below the pink layer!

Gerry, do you remember your comments about the pink field near Ardmore? Now your camera has gone pink as pink can. ;)
The scenery shows a very calm effect with the boats and the quiet water. May

Ha Ha I remember! This is the colour as it was though :-D
BTW The water is not as quiet as it seems! The tide would be emptying fairly fast out through the narrow channel. Not safe for bathing!

Very good photo, Gerry. I can see the surf on the far shore, but May's right that the scene looks very calm on the whole. The boats and buoys all floating so peacefully together.
And very interesting and unusual colors also!

That looks like a lovely spot to spend the night! One could just watch the tide ebb and the sun fade, then have a bite to eat. Now, is there a pub on shore?

Amazing shot An Iolar Glas, I agree with you I thing it could be the Earth´s shadow and high last lights of the sunset as happen with airways above the sky at that time.

Very nice indeed Gerry! I think it is very effective that all the boats are dark except for that lovely white sailboat. Well done! Bruce

Great shot Gerry!
Getting the glow on the water really adds to the impact of the photo. These time just after sunset or before sunrise sure can be special.

Gerry, once again! Amazing, today we've had a sunset with exactly the same pink down to the horizon. I think it has to do with the haze, we've had. The sun has been glaring today.

Thanks Larry and May. In this case the high cloud layer in the distance enhanced the effect. We can get some nice skies (and weather) when the edge of the weather fronts are close by.
