I was marching a troop of soldiers about 2 miles from the lake in 1960. The edge of the lake was tinged with pink. I, and others in the troop, assumed this was from the soda deposits that we had heard about. As we got close the whole shoreline rose up in a pink cloud!!! Of Flamingos!!
