The hill of Episkopi

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

In a dominant location is the imposing hill of the Episkopis, where the past was the bishop there had Demetrias its headquarters. From the original church of the second half of the 13th century-probably a variant of cross-plan type-remain only the eastern wall with the thiedral conch of the holy bema. The Byzantine church was completely reconstructed in 1639. The east and north facade are richly decorated with middle and late Byzantine reliefs in marble.
