This view of Cubbie Station, looking up the Chinaman Creek floodway (forested) shows Beltana Water Storage filling with flood water diverted from the Culgoa/Balonne River and B2 and B1 storage areas in the left distance. Cultivation blocks 56 to 29 extend for 24 kilometres to the north-east, on the other side of the Chinaman Creek Floodway.
This image taken in January 2008 reveals the benefit of the December 2007 rains that broke the drought but came too late for cotton planting. The Cubbie Station decided to plant sorghum instead.
Cubbie Station has created water storages with a capacity of almost 500 000 megalitres on its 96 000 Hectare property near Dirranbandi, SW Queensland.
