Climbing Junkie Story # 10, Learning to Fly

Not selected for Google Earth or Google Maps after a second review [?]

I have included this photo in my personal climbing junkie folder and also the Addictive Climbing Stories group. This climb I have done before. Several photos that I have recently uploaded tell this story, photo by photo, with details of the climb. I added text to several of the various photos relevant to what was happening in that photo. The story has no extraordinary tale; the main thing that sticks in my mind is the long run out and the cold windy conditions. Both are not that typical for Joshua Tree.

  • Here I am having some fun after finishing my climb. The rock was not too difficult however there was no protection placements while in the chimney. If a fall were to occur, it would be a grounder. The guide book to the area mentioned the same warning in the route description.
  • I Placed all photos of this route in This Slide Show Folder for your viewing.

  • I really Joshua Tree Nation Park. It has thousands of documented climbs and has great beauty as well.
