Great mix of the trail and the distant mountains. You really feel the expanse.

Gorgeous scenery, Rich! One of the main differences between the mountains in Europe and in North America, is that in the Rockies, you get such wide expanses with absolutely nothing in them but forests (and animals). Here in Europe, you'd see at least three villages in such a shot. (Which also has it charms, but it's still different.)
You could also call this shot "into the wild" :)
Cheers, Justin

Greetings JHK and Hank, Thanks for visiting Shrine Pass and commenting.
Hank - We are off on a cross country ski trail and there were not many others around. The ski area in the distance is Copper Mountain, one of the bigger areas and behind that the Ten Mile Range. On the other side of Ten Mile is Breckenridge. We had a wonderful day.
Justin - There are miles and miles of mountain and forest where there is nothing but the trees and animals. It is very beautiful and you can get away. In this stretch of the mountains and highways you have a town or ski area every 15 to 20 miles. Touring in Europe would be fun to, especially using the trains and trams and snow.
Cheers,
Rich

Hi Rich, I'm sure you'd like touring in Europe as well, if you ever get the opportunity, I can certainly recommend it :)
Having been to the Canadian Rockies this summer, I'd really like to go and ski there, but it's slightly expensive for a students budget ;)

Greetings Bruce, Thanks for visiting Shrine Pass and commenting. Lillian had a wonderful time in the hills. She doesn't get out to often so I take her places that are easy to get to as well as beautiful. The weather was perfect as the storm moved out and the clouds were breaking up. It made for great and variable lighting. On our way back out the east turned into a beautiful postcard scene. Copper Mountain is a large ski area I used to ski at in the old days.
Cheers,
Rich
