France, la Basilique de Notre Dame la "Bonne Mére", prise du port de Marseille

Notre-Dame de la Garde, also known locally as "Good Mother" is one of the minor basilicas of the Roman Catholic Church. It is located on a rocky limestone 149 meters south of the Old Port of Marseille, elevated 13 meters through walls and foundations of an old fort. Built by the architect Henry Espérandieu in the Roman-Byzantine style and dedicated June 5, 1864, it replaced a chapel of the same name built in 1214. Roger.
