Designed by Harry c. Oliver, the Witch's House was built in 1921. Film buffs may remember that Oliver was art director for Viva Via, The Good Earth, and Ben Hur. He won the first Oscar for design with Seventh Heaven. He also invented the cobweb machine. Mr. Oliver constructed this storybook building as the Irvin Willst Studio. Mr. Willst said about it in April 1921 "We have tried to reporduce a tumbledown structure of two centuries ago.." The house was originally built in Culver City. It moved to present location in 1929.
