Hi, If you like to see this masterpiece in dazzling 3D, please cross your eyes until left and right images overlap in the center. The center area should appear in 3D. You can also copy the entire image and paste it to Stereo Photo Maker for full screen viewing with zoom and pan ability or changing the 3D viewing technique. This image pair from a lava cave or the purple lotus flower is good for beginners due to their simplicity.

As you may have noticed, these images are simply taken with some offset distance between them with a regular digital camera. Therefore it is also possible for you to use your regular camera to start making your own stereoscopic 3D photographs with the mentioned software and share.

Wishing you best of luck for your success on this very simple to make yet amazingly rewarding technique.

Gee, why'd you pick this location? :-D

Nice 3D! I like the thin floating cloud layer!

Thanks Kamalyn-3D, I am sure it didn't took too long to figure out the reason for the placement :D Actually, I think placement is accurate for the location where the picture was taken. And I should visit Vulcan someday, perhaps they'd make me the mayor for the town for little bit :D Cheers, Volkan

:D now that I think about it, the photo could be from anywhere, and you just located it here because of the name! (And I've just noticed that January's National Geographic magazine is about you!)

Volkan Yuksel on January 15, 2008

Kamalyn-3D, yes you got it. If you agree with the positioning than I don't have to refer to my other sources of information in that aspect.

I checked the NG website and didn't see anything about Vulcans. I am missing something? :)

kamalyn-3D on January 15, 2008

I don't really question the location - I know you have your trusty GPS with you at all times! I did look at the NG website to try to make a link, but the website's already February, and you have to go to the archive link for the January issue. BUT it doesn't give the same cover page as in our grocery store here. Here, the cover page shouts 'Volcano Gods!' The cover on the NG page says 'Volcano Worship' (which I guess you'd like as well) and the article is titled Volcano Culture' Guess they just can't make up their mind. :)

He is fascinating! The cloud veil the best! Congratulations! Laci

OK Kamalyn-3D, I will try our local grocery stores here. I am sure the English and Turkish versions should have similar content. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers, Volkan

hmmm, can't tell if that's a little alien sarcasm or not...I have a feeling all the different versions are even for within the States, so no idea what they issue in other languages. But bet none of the versions have a Vulcan 3D!

Volkan Yuksel on January 16, 2008

Kamalyn-3D, I didn't know that even within states contents of the NG is different. As I said I heck the local copy and let you know. In the mean time, I keep doing Vulcan 3D for those who are interested. Take care, Volkan
