Hamzars, thank you so much! These are pet ducks that I've had since they were small enough to fit into one hand. I enjoy ducks so much. They have more personality than most of the humans I know! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Sincerely, MaryAlice
Are these your Indian Runners, Mary Alice? What a wonderful capture - how on earth did you happen to have your camera read for that! And their coloration is gorgeous - very unique. If these are the ducks you were talking about - you brought up a wonderful brood. Very nice portrait.
ps - it's none of my business, but I see my name above in your reply to coal miner's boy - is that a typo?
It's wonderful to see you again! Yes, these are my Indian Runners! They weren't even a year old yet in this picture. I was already in the middle of taking pictures when the plane came overhead. It was just a fun distraction! Ducks see EVERYTHING too, so I heard it and knew they'd be looking up.
Thank you so much for your kind compliments! :)
That was not a type-o above either! Paul likes to call me Merry Alicia instead of Mary Alice, but I can't remember why exactly. It was something that got started a little while back. I think he was making fun of the way I was trying to translate my words to Spanish. :) I have a really hard time with that. I, in turn, call him Happy Paul, because he is my happy friend on here and just always seems to bring a smile when he's around. :)
Well, thanks so much for visiting the sweet Indian Runners! I hope your Friday is wonderful.
Aha...After I left that message I noticed you signed your name that way in other replies so I knew it must not have been a typo. I'll stick with Mary Alice so as not to confuse myself ;~> I have yet to visit Paul's gallery and am looking forward to it.
Again - a great capture of your Indian Runners!
Best, alicia
Hey, MaryAlice, walkin' along your way of seeing the world and creatures I stopped at this pictured moment. I know, that people go wrong, if they see humanity in animals faces. But in this very special case I will do this mistake with a warm feeling - and smiling, like they do. They seems to be very proud that one of them (airplane!!!) flys as well, as it do. Greetings... and comin' back soon to your gallery.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this shot. It has always amused me when I see ducks turn their heads completely to the side like this when watching things overhead! I just think it's so cute, and I was delighted to capture this moment! I'm even happier than you enjoyed it as well.
Thank you so much for coming back over to my humble gallery!

"Hey Louie, what do you think? Would you like to fly that high?"
"Nah, Hughie, that's too high for us ducks!"
"What do you mean, too high, Louie? We're DUCKS! We can easily fly as high as anything man-made."
"You're crazy, Dewey. Why on earth would you want to go THAT high?"
"Because it's there, man - because it's there!"

I LOVE this! Love it, love it, LOVE it! :)
Thank you for the happy smiles tonight. I was wondering if you were around.
Did you have a good day? I hope so.
I'm getting ready for bed, as work is extra early for me tomorrow.
It's wonderful to see you here.
Goodnight, my Jolly friend!
