Nice shot! What's the story?
Funny, huh? This is a crazy house on 21st Av. in San Francisco. I don't know the story of the house, and I never saw the owner outside. (That guy in front is a passerby.) Here's my story: on my last day of work in San Francisco on April 1st, 2008, I decided to finally get a shot of this house. I passed it many times in my wanderings about town. The car is propped up on bricks at the back, so it's on display like everything else rather than being used as a car. The mass of metal stuff is impossible to sort out even looking at it in person - it's just random bits and pieces of this and that, except for the recognizable car and bouncy horse. Oh, and there's a 49ers helmet.
I posted it on the Google Earth Community, so I am reluctant to map it here until I check to see if I already put it in my placemark.
OH, I see there is a photo by another person, there, but I've added my own. My placemark seems to have disappeared...or else I'm delusional and I never posted it. The red car is gone. Check this out on Street View!
There are similar houses around here, except not really artistic......and more couches, sooo i guess nothing like that house!
Hahaha...yeah, PLENTY of junky yards here, too, but as you say, without a goal in mind. I especially like an old truck seat on the porch, and toilets and tractor tires planted with flowers. That's just great landscaping, eh? :O
To each his own I guess.
Yes, that's a good way to put it. :D
Unica, veramente, da stella dorata!!!!! Ciao, Bob
Hi, Bob, I'm glad you appreciate this "artwork." :D
LOL, looks like my house but with a car even more beautiful, I love and I would like to know that people will no doubt be very interesting characters, if you tell them you saw a spanish sends greetings and admiration ;)
Incredibile casa!lk3. Buon Anno 2013! Ciao, Gianfranco
Thank you, Gianfranco! :D
Good evening Diane. It is really a very interesting picture of the art new invention. I like it very much. "Landf" and best greetings to you.
Thanks very much, I'm glad you like it!
Does he do anything for Christmas?
A happy one to you btw.
Ha - good question. I just looked at this on GE Street View and it's all gone! That has happened since I looked last year. Bummer! The new owner saved only the blue fish under the window. At least my photo is on GE for posterity.
Thanks, Paul. : )
Oh, I remember now, you moved away from SF :(
Does this house ring any bells http://www.lightsofthevalley.com/Properties/Detail.asp?i=689
How fun! No, never saw that. I lived in Half Moon Bay and worked in SF for eight years. My job involved having to drive around many districts of the city, so I knew it almost as well as if I'd lived there. I miss both places every day, even seven years later.
