Lovely animals and great photo, Ian! You have put the tag "wildlife", does it mean they are wild and kept here in a park or a kind of zoo?
Best wishes, May
"I'm the king of the castle!"
I would love to have been able to locate this in the mountains of Morocco or somewhere wilder than inland NSW. They are confined at Dubbo Plains zoo, which is a contemporary one in which there is a degree of open range while moat and embankments enclose the animals. This is good for photographers for in most cases one may be able to avoid having fences and structures in the pic.
Thanks again Marilyn for your special interaction. I presume this is the dominant male's behaviour. As I observed him, he seemed so self assured.
Wonderfull place, Yan. In my opinion these animals well feel themselves. Greetings from Ukraine. Eva
They do, Eva. They're really the most fortunate ones. They are not stressed by poor seasons and get the highest quality veterinary care. I guess the proof is in the fertility of the herd.
Lovely to receive your comment, Eva.
Your friend Yan.
Lovely picture Ian !!!
Thankyou Jaques. I was very happy when the buck climbed up on top and displayed himself for my camera.
I believe these fellows that are native to the rocky uplands spread right across the Sahara Region from Chad to Morocco now, have significant populations in Europe (South of Spain) and in USA (New Mexico and Texas). If we let them loose here they would displace the rock wallabies!
very beautiful photo.
best regards from iran
Thanks Barat. I guess you will have some mountain goats similar to this in Iran, too.
