Al2O3 ? Also hexagonal that dishes when broken. Quartz has some amazing properties and the temperature coefficient is related exactly to the crystal cut angle. The ZTC makes a Rolex watch work with body temperature. Time was defined by quartz in the last century and now it is defined by propeties of atomic atoms.
