I like these harmless bee flies.

There is a very tiny one in Spain (I don't know it's name).

Last year at this time it was very noticeable as it is one of the loudest insects I've ever heard (especially for its size!). It seemed only to like one (extremely) tiny purple flower which appears in carpet form.

But this year, neither bee fly not host plant are around and I see no sign of either in the next few weeks either!

I hope I do as I am fond of both!

If not, I will have to make do with your nice series!

Best wishes, Andy
