This is the Packhorse Bridge at Fifehead Neville, reputedly what the pilgrims used on their pilgrimage from Wells to Salisbury cathedrals. It crosses the river Divelish which is impassable by foot during the heavy rains. Normal road traffic use Dark Lane through the ford via the 'Irish Bridge'. This ford as already cost one life in the past 20 years when a van driver tried to negotiate the ford. the van was swept away with the driver trapped inside. To the right of the bridge and in the adjacent field are the remains of a Roman Villa (not visible).
