Oi Michael, linda foto! L. Saudações, S.
first of all, thank you for your friendly comment to my photo "Stockholm, Teracom satellite ground station next to Kaknästornet".
Of course, I have immediately visited your Panoramio gallery and I found it very interesting to read your description of your reasons why you have joined Panoramio:
"Through these wonderful pictures we can see the world and culture of various peoples, without distinction and prejudices. I appreciate the invitations but can not join groups. Maybe in the future. I love photography, music and literature. It is a pleasure to be here at panoramio."
That's exactly what motivates me, too. After joining Panoramio in 2009 I have programmed a little utility named PanoramioPhotoWizard which is essentially a specialized browser for browsing the entire Panoramio photo database picture by picture or user by user plus a few other features. This freeware program can be downloaded from my website: http://www.fh-rosenheim.de/~diegelmann/index_English.htm#PanoramioPhotoWizard.
Browsing through these photos with my PanoramioPhotoWizard in the sequence of their uploading time got me to all kinds of locations in the world which I otherwise might have never visited in Google Earth (being the usual access to the Panoramio photos). This radically canged my view of the world in many respects. So, e.g., I found many parts of China to be by far more developed than I had thought before. Or when looking at photos from Russia I have encountered a striking discrepancy between extremely run down neighbourhoods and the living quarters of the super rich etc.
For very similar reasons my son Jonathan has recently opened up his own Panoramio account http://www.panoramio.com/user/7042905 and I am sure he will like your kind of photos, too.
Kind regards Michael
Dear Michael, thank you for your message. I'm sorry if I did not answer before. The utility "PanoramioPhotoWizard" should be very interesting. I'll book a time to meet. Thanks also for that! You are very kind. After answering the message visit their site. I agree with you. Visit the galleries of photos in panoramio is an enriching experience. We know many different countries and cultures. Sincerely, S.
